I'm so behind.....

Ok, so I know I have slacked for the last few months! Deak and I have both been in school full time, and switching off taking care of Kaed :) But it's finally OVER!! and Now we're getting ready to move next week...haha the craziness never stops! But things are going great for our little family. Like I said we just finished school. I am absolutly LOVING nursing school and have made some great friends that help out along the way, and Deak really seemed to enjoy his classes and he did great! Kaed is growing us so fast! He just turned 9 months on the 15th, and he's been crawling now for almost 2 months now! And he's going to be walking in no time!

We are super excited to be moving!! So once we've gotten everything moved over and settled into our new place, I'll post pictures!!

Great Things are Happening!!!

Ok, so I know I haven't updated this thing in forever, but we've had a crazy, busy, wonderful summer, and it's sad to see it end next week. We've moved out of Mesaco (the ghetto of mesa, where all the signs are in spanish), I recieved my endowments, we we're sealed as a family and Kaed was blessed. Plus we've just been out having fun. The Temple was the most wonderful experience, and I am so grateful for the knowledge that families are eternal.

Besides the temple, the other great part has been watching Kaed as he grows and developes. I can't even believe he's already 5 months! We're so glad he's joined our family, he just makes life so much more enjoyable. He and Deak are already becoming the best of buddies, and I know Deak can hardly wait to take him out and play some ball.

Kaed's Blessing

Our Sealing

Kaed's 1st feeding (well, the first one he actually ate some of)
The summers gone by too quickly, but Deak and I are both eager to get started with school and get on with our careers. I'll be starting the nursing program at MCC and Deak has decided that he's going to pursue a degree in Special Education, which he will be great at. Wish us Luck!!!!

Poor Daddy....

Well, we've been home for the hospital for just over a week now, and I think we're all doing pretty good! I'm starting to get myself in a good routine so waking up in the middle of night doesn't take it out of me like it did right at first. Now we just need to get daddy on a schedule. I feel so bad, he's been so tired latley. But he's been wonderful!! He still gets up every morning and gets off to school, along with helping me with Kaed and of course stopping for a few seconds to give me a hug and make sure I'm feeling ok. He's definatly a great husband, and already a wonderful dad! :)

We got Kaed to his first Doctors appointment on Monday, and everything is good! He's a healthy little boy (although we already knew that). Also, I was having some concerns about my insicion from the C- section, so Dr. Falk had me come in to make sure. Everythings going good, and theres nothing to worry about, thank goodness! I am counting down the days that I will be able to get out of the house and drive again! Not that I don't love being able to take care of my baby, but sitting at home is definatly frustrating!!
The other good thing about me going in to see Dr. Falk is that I completely forgot about getting a picture with him and Kaed at the hospital. So thankfully I remembered to bring my camera, and was able to get a picture of them together at my appointment.

A New Beginning!

He's Finally Here!! Kaed Curtis Baker has joined our family as of March 15, 2010, and we are just sooo excited! He was born 3:00pm exactly and was 7lbs 14oz 20 1/2 inches long.

So my last post was sunday saying how there was no baby yet, and i think 7 hours later my water broke. We got to the hospital about 6:30, and got admitted right away, and it definatly wasn't a quick process, lol. We were there all through the night and as I was SLOWLY dilating, and finally at 12pm the following day I was to a 10. And since I had been there so long the nurse had me start pushing right away.

Once I started pushing we realized it was going to be an even longer process. When I would push he would come down and then as soon as I stopped he was just go right back up. What was happening was I had a bone that was sticking out keeping him from coming down the entire way. So, I wasn't making any progress. So finally after an hour and a half of pushing, Dr. Falk came in and we decided to take the baby C section.

This is Kaed, right as Dr Falk pulled him out. It was super cool of him, he to get ready for it and everything. It was really exciting!!
This is me during the whole procedure. Can you tell how tired I am? lol

Proud Daddy!

We just love having him around! and even after all that, I defianlty have to say, it's all worth it! He has been such a wonderful baby so far, i think he knows how tired I am since all that and is being extra good for us! Deak and I just love being parents- especially Deak! I think he was just born to be a dad, and I look forward to seeing us both grow, and learn together.

No baby yet.....

We will keep everyone updated, but at this point, No baby yet....

I went in for my first 1 week appt. on wed and Dr. Falk didn't want to check me, but we had him anyways, and we were very excited to find that I was already dilated to 3cm. But at this point contractions aren't near painful enough or consistant enough to get too excited. We're hoping sometime very VERY soon though (preferrably this week while Deak's on Spring Break)!! But don't worry, we will definatly keep everyone updated and informed.

Wow, I'm really bad at this......

Well, SOOOO much has happened for us in the past couple months, and I'm sorry the blog is the one thing that's gotten put on the back burner.... But we're back!!

We had a wonderful Christmas! We had spent Thanksgiving up in Woodruff with the Baker's, so we decided we would stay here and celebrate christmas with the Hale's. But on Christmas Eve we were talking and decided to go up on christmas afternoon, after spending the morning with my family, and surprise Mom and Dad Baker. It was really fun because it was my first christmas in the snow, and definatly cold!!! But I'm so glad we went when we did cuz the following monday at my doctors appt, he gave us the halt on our weekend getaways to Woodruff until after the baby......

Well, most people know now, but Deak is no longer working at the University of Phoenix. It was definatly stressful at first, but has actually turned out to be a HUGE blessing for us, and things are working out in more ways then we could have ever imagined! Deak has forever been wanting to go to school full time, and he finally has the chance! We got him signed up at MCC at the beginning of the month, and thanks to grants, don't have to pay for any of it! So he spends his mornings there and he absolutly loves it, he has really enjoyed his classes so far and has great teachers that really set their students up to succeed. He also interviewed with Mesa Public Schools last week, so in a little while should be starting up doing some part-time custodial/ maintenance work in the afternoon/evenings after the kids have gone home each day. In addition to all that, our families have been EXTREMEMLY supportive and helped us out soooo much with little things here and there. AND... just this last week we were finally able to get things approved with AHCCCS for my health insurance and the baby's. That was definatly a process, but once I yelled at the lady on the phone for about 10 minutes, things went quickly after that!! lol and am very grateful that we have plans like that to help us out when we need it!

So since we got the insurance stuff approved, I was finally able to get back in with the doctor for my checkup, and we also did another ultrasound. I LOVE being able to see Kaed, and how much he's been growing, especially in such a short period of time. It was crazy how much he's grown since november when we first found out he was a boy, and he looks like he's just way to cramped up in there. We also found out that he's 4lbs, 9oz!!!!! can you believe that? I have an over 4lb baby inside me??? and I still have 2 months left! my doctor says its normal, but I'm sorry, that just sounds soo huge to me, especially since I'm only 32 weeks on saturday. But o-well, he is a Baker baby, right?? :) We also learned he has a full head of hair! which I am SOOO excited for. I know it's an old wives tale, but I've had horrible heart burn and was hoping so much that it ment he had hair, and not just that I was lucky enough to get heartburn from every single thing my body digested!! :)

Well, I think that's it for now, and I'm sure I've missed something, but life has just been sooo crazy latley! It's times like these you really have to know there's someone up there that loves us and is always looking out for us. I know without a doubt that when we have times of trial and stress in our lives that if we turn to the Lord for guidence and help, we will definatly be blessed, sometimes not in the ways we expect, but defiantly in the way that will benefit us the most in the long run, and help strengthen us!
