Poor Daddy....

Well, we've been home for the hospital for just over a week now, and I think we're all doing pretty good! I'm starting to get myself in a good routine so waking up in the middle of night doesn't take it out of me like it did right at first. Now we just need to get daddy on a schedule. I feel so bad, he's been so tired latley. But he's been wonderful!! He still gets up every morning and gets off to school, along with helping me with Kaed and of course stopping for a few seconds to give me a hug and make sure I'm feeling ok. He's definatly a great husband, and already a wonderful dad! :)

We got Kaed to his first Doctors appointment on Monday, and everything is good! He's a healthy little boy (although we already knew that). Also, I was having some concerns about my insicion from the C- section, so Dr. Falk had me come in to make sure. Everythings going good, and theres nothing to worry about, thank goodness! I am counting down the days that I will be able to get out of the house and drive again! Not that I don't love being able to take care of my baby, but sitting at home is definatly frustrating!!
The other good thing about me going in to see Dr. Falk is that I completely forgot about getting a picture with him and Kaed at the hospital. So thankfully I remembered to bring my camera, and was able to get a picture of them together at my appointment.

A New Beginning!

He's Finally Here!! Kaed Curtis Baker has joined our family as of March 15, 2010, and we are just sooo excited! He was born 3:00pm exactly and was 7lbs 14oz 20 1/2 inches long.

So my last post was sunday saying how there was no baby yet, and i think 7 hours later my water broke. We got to the hospital about 6:30, and got admitted right away, and it definatly wasn't a quick process, lol. We were there all through the night and as I was SLOWLY dilating, and finally at 12pm the following day I was to a 10. And since I had been there so long the nurse had me start pushing right away.

Once I started pushing we realized it was going to be an even longer process. When I would push he would come down and then as soon as I stopped he was just go right back up. What was happening was I had a bone that was sticking out keeping him from coming down the entire way. So, I wasn't making any progress. So finally after an hour and a half of pushing, Dr. Falk came in and we decided to take the baby C section.

This is Kaed, right as Dr Falk pulled him out. It was super cool of him, he to get ready for it and everything. It was really exciting!!
This is me during the whole procedure. Can you tell how tired I am? lol

Proud Daddy!

We just love having him around! and even after all that, I defianlty have to say, it's all worth it! He has been such a wonderful baby so far, i think he knows how tired I am since all that and is being extra good for us! Deak and I just love being parents- especially Deak! I think he was just born to be a dad, and I look forward to seeing us both grow, and learn together.

No baby yet.....

We will keep everyone updated, but at this point, No baby yet....

I went in for my first 1 week appt. on wed and Dr. Falk didn't want to check me, but we had him anyways, and we were very excited to find that I was already dilated to 3cm. But at this point contractions aren't near painful enough or consistant enough to get too excited. We're hoping sometime very VERY soon though (preferrably this week while Deak's on Spring Break)!! But don't worry, we will definatly keep everyone updated and informed.

It's a Boy!!

Well, Deak and I went into the doctor yesterday, and are VERY excited to announce, WE'RE HAVING A BOY!! We can't wait until he will be joining our family in March. And the baby is defiantly a Baker, haha, his stomach, arms and legs are in the 90%. So he's probably gonna be a big little boy! But when is having a chunky baby ever bad, right??

We have had names picked out since probably the week we found out I was pregnant, and if it was a boy it was going to be Curtis Thomas Baker, after both our dad's. But the night before we went into the ultrasound we decided to change it. So our little boy's name will be Kaed Curtis Baker. And Kaed, is Deak backwards, so we decided that deak's somewhat name sake should be our first boy. So we'll be using my dad's name for our 2nd boy.

Kaed Curtis Baker, Coming March 2010!!! :)

So little time, so much to do....

Wow, it's been forever since I've taken the time to sit down and update this thing! I can't believe it's already been almost 2 months... CRAZY!

Deak and I have been married for almost 6 months now! It's crazy to think we've only been married for that long, honestly it seems like we've been together forever (in a good way!). And I know it has a lot to do with everything we've gone through and experienced together as a couple, the good and bad! I definatly have grown to love him more and more everyday, and learned to appreciate him more and more for all the little things. Especially for putting up with me and my pregnant self!

Well, I am just about 19 weeks along now! and the nausea doesn't seem to have gotten much better.... I am happy to say I don't wake up feeling sick anymore! But if I don't at least take my nausea pill each day, I'm done for! And luckily we have wonderful insurance that covers them! I have to say it is a crazy feeling trying to prepare for a baby, be it financially, mentally and of course physically. We have definatly come to fully understand when everyone tells us there truly is never a perfect time to start a family, nor are you really ever truly ready for what life has in store for you after that! haha It's definatly been an experience trying to tie up loose ends thus far, and hope things are going to work out. There are just so many unanswered questions that come along with this experience and most of the time I wonder if we're going to have time to get some of it done before the baby actually gets here, but I know we're defiantly growing closer and stronger from everything we're experiencing, and of course we are soo very excited to become parents and start our family. We are especially excited because come next wed, we get to find out the sex of the baby! And I definatly will be posting again after we find out.

Along with the excitement of the baby, I FINALLY heard back on my nursing application I submitted in May of 2008! I was accepted into MCC's nursing school for the Spring semester of 2010. But, the baby is due sometime in mid-March, so luckily I was able to defer my postion until the August of next year. I was so excited just to finally hear back about it, that even though I have to postpone it a little longer, it's no big deal, I definantly think our baby's worth it! It's also kinda nice to be able to have a little more time to prepare for it as well.

So today Deak and I are finally leaving to go on our honeymoon!! We are both soooo excited, because this is a much needed vacation! We're going to be heading up to Laughlin till saturday morning, and then from there we'll be driving into Las Vegas to visit Deak's brother Mickey and his family. We both can't wait to get away, and very excited to spend some time with Mickey's family. So until next week.....

12 weeks down.... :)

Well, life has definatly been a new experience lately for both Deak and me. I still get blown away everytime the thought of being a mom comes to mind, It's so weird because it's the one thing I've always wanted to do, and now that it's happening I never thought about all the emotions and feelings that are involved with it. It's incredibly scary, exciting, overwhelming, exhausting, nauseating(not that i have any choice in this one) and just plain craziest thing ever!! And Deak is lovingly putting up with all of this....

So today we had our first ultrasound, and we both were totally excited going into it. I was especially excited because I have been sooo sick, I needed something to keep me excited, and to help me realize that there is a point to all this!

Going into our appointment, from our 1st visit with Dr. Faulk I though I was just over 10 weeks, only come to find that I am 12 weeks!! I was sooo excited to hear that, because hopefully that means the nausea will end sooner! And it also puts my due date to mid March rather then the 1sto f April, which is nice as well! But aside from that, lol, the baby is healthy, and just over 2inches long! It was so fun to hear the little heart beat, and a few times the tech would push really hard and the baby would do a little dance! It was so cute! Words just can't express how amazing it is to see this little baby, and know that it's growing inside me. It truly was an amazing experience, and Deak and I cannot wait to be parents!

Definatly Unexpected.....

Well, for all you that haven't heard, I'M PREGNANT!! But trust me, I wasn't always excited about it. We were planning to wait about 2-3 years so I could get into nursing school and finish it before we started settling down and starting our family. So I definatly was in shock at first when I saw those 2 little pink lines show up. But Deak on the other hand, was SOOO excited! And seeing him so excited, as the time as passed, has gotten me very excited as well!! We found out July 24th, Deak's Birthday (What a wonderful birthday present eh??), and I'll be due around the first of April 2010.
